Basketball

Block, pass, shoot and slam-dunk the ball through the hoop. Basketball is a game of skill, tactics, and fitness rather than strength.

Join a club and go training to polish your technique. You'll boost your fitness and improve your teamwork skills. You could even be selected for the team on match day.

Did you know? Basketball's name comes from how the game was first played. Basketball hoops were originally closed bottom baskets. The 10 foot high basket had to be taken down to retrieve the ball with each point scored.

Typical cost: £2-£5 for a two hour training session.
